Scuppered! (But not for long) Yesterday's chemo treatment was a bit of a disappointment, sort of. I only received one of my two medications because my white blood cell count dropped a little. But, I have done really well up to now, and it's expected that your white blood cell count will drop at some point during chemotherapy.

I was so looking forward to being done with this combination of medicines, especially the devilish one called Adriamycin. But that's the one they held off on.

So, I will have the last Adriamycin when my counts go back up. The doctor gave me a shot this morning to help my bone marrow make more white blood cells. If my counts are back up next week, then I'll have chemo on Thursday.

When I complained to Dwayne that now I'll have a crummy weekend this weekend and then probably an extra crummy weekend next weekend too, he reminded me that at least I have a drug on board this weekend to fight the cancer.

After all, that's what I'm supposed to be concentrating on, right? Dwayne is an irrepressible optimist and reminds me of what's important in this fight.
