In case you're keeping track ...
... and I hope you have much more fun things to do than to keep track of my chemo treatment schedule, :-) but I was postponed again.
My white blood cell counts are too low for chemo this week, and they're sending a home health care aide to give me shots to boost them for the next four days.
I just spoke to the nurse, and he said that the idea is that they teach me to give myself the shots! Yeah, right! Even though I have received numerous intravenous shots for PET scans, MRIs and CAT scans, 6 rounds of chemo (actually 7 if you consider that one of my rounds of chemo was delivered over the course of two different IV treatments), and tons of blood tests, I still cannot abide needles.
So, maybe Dwayne can learn to do it, but I still reserve the right to squinch my eyes shut!
I feel fine and plan to go to the Farmer's Market in a few minutes (we have a new one here in Sierra Madre -- read about it
here) and to go out on my walk later. We had one of Dinah's and Djuna's friends over this morning for a play date. So, we are moving along with our lives and cancer will just have to catch up with us wherever we are, thank you very much.
